| Getting
Started:
Important to the operation
of a motorcycle-trailer combination:
Check the ball
and all bolts for tightness. |
| Check the lights after hooking up the trailer. |
| Wax the exterior
body of the trailer with a good grade of car wax. |
| Wheel bearing should
be checked after the first 500 miles and repacked if necessary. |
| From
then on check yearly or more frequently if the trailer is used year
around or has a lot of miles put on it.

LEARNING
TO PULL A TRAILER:
Do not hook up your trailer and expect to run at top
speed right away. Start out easy -- get used to the combination of a
cycle and trailer. Be sure to check everything before each trip.

STOPPING
DISTANCE:
The quickest way to get into trouble with your trailer is not
to allow enough time to stop. Make a habit of allowing yourself at least
one-third more stopping distance. GET ON THE BRAKES EARLY!

RACK LOADING:
Put your heavy items inside the trailer. Heavy items on
the top rack will cause the unit to be top-heavy. The rack is mainly for
appearance, not luggage.

PASSING:
When first pulling a trailer, a person sometimes will forget that the
trailer is behind him. Remember that your unit is now about twice as
long as it was before. Allow extra room before pulling back into your
lane when passing vehicles and also when turning corners.

TIRE
PRESSURE & TONGUE WEIGHT:
These two things, along with the loading of
the trailer, will make the difference between a trailer that pulls
easily or one that bounces and sways.

|
IMPORTANT: Too much weight on the tongue will cause the cycle to sag,
and too much weight on the rear will cause the trailer to sway.
